CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF RUMFEST SUCCESS

In 2007 Ian created the UK RumFest, the world’s first international rum festival in London attracting rum companies from all over the world. This festival went on to inspire rum promoters from all over the world to create their own versions of Ian’s RumFest including the Rum Renaissance in Miami,Florida, the Berlin Rum fest in Germany, the Paris Rum fair in France and the Rum show in Rome, Italy. Ian has also personally helped to launch rum festivals in the Czech Republic, Hong Kong and Mauritius.

GOLDEN RUM BARrEL AWARDS VAST EXPERIENCE OF HOSTING & COMPAIRING

Golden Rum Barrel Awards celebrate the stars of the Rum industry in a relaxed and luxurious setting with delicious food, drinks and live entertainment. Trophy awards & certificates will be given to honor categories such as Best Rum Maker, Rum Distillers, Rum Ambassadors , Rum Writer, UK Rum Bar, Rum Bartender of the Year, as well as best new Rums.

RUM ON THE RIVER: LEAD UP TO RUMFEST

Within this Canal Boat setting guest were treated to a bevy of rums and cocktails for tasting, along with food. Press and members of the hospitality trade were treated to complimentary rum offerings i the lead up celebration the main event of the UK RumFest.

TRADE DAY

UK’s leading rum trade event, is back for a seventh year. Showcasing new and independent rums and cachaças, the festival provides a platform for the industry to network and try new releases. RISE OF RUM

Even though larger brands have an enormous footprint, there feels like a rum renaissance happening amongst the finer rums. What do you credit most for rum’s recent rise?
“I credit Ian Burrell with creating the first rum festival in the world in London. It was a smashing success beyond all expectations. It allowed us to introduce our style of rums to one of the world’s most desirable audiences – London. Festivals all over the world have followed”.

London Rum Week is a week-long celebration of rum across bars all over the capital, ahead of RumFest. Activities that will take place across London during the week

SPICED RUM SHOW

Spiced rum is the new gin, and with so many new brands being offered to the UK public I felt that it was time for the spiced and flavoured part of the rum category to have its own separate show, Also with the rise in premium mixers made to pair with spiced rums, we wanted to give a platform for the ‘spiced rum Highballs’ that are becoming popular in our bars and homes around the country
